Vice President, Marketing
Overview
SpaceX is seeking a Vice President of Marketing to lead global brand strategy, communications, customer acquisition, product marketing, and market expansion initiatives across commercial launch services, Starlink, government partnerships, and future consumer-facing products. This leader will be responsible for translating SpaceX's mission into compelling narratives that drive growth, customer adoption, and public engagement worldwide.
The ideal candidate combines world-class strategic marketing leadership with deep experience scaling technology products, managing complex stakeholder environments, and building high-performing teams in fast-moving organizations.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the global marketing vision aligned with SpaceX's long-term mission.
- Partner closely with executive leadership to support business growth objectives.
- Develop integrated marketing strategies across enterprise, government, and consumer segments.
- Identify new market opportunities and expansion initiatives.
Brand & Communications
- Oversee global brand strategy and positioning.
- Lead corporate communications, thought leadership, and reputation management.
- Ensure consistent messaging across all customer and public-facing channels.
- Partner with communications teams during major launches, product announcements, and mission milestones.
Product & Growth Marketing
- Lead product marketing for Starlink and future commercial offerings.
- Drive customer acquisition, retention, and lifecycle marketing initiatives.
- Develop go-to-market strategies for new products and markets.
- Optimize growth funnels using data-driven experimentation.
Customer & Market Insights
- Establish processes for gathering customer feedback and market intelligence.
- Analyze competitive dynamics and industry trends.
- Translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
Team Leadership
- Build and scale a world-class marketing organization.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop senior marketing leaders.
- Foster a culture of execution, accountability, and innovation.
- Manage agency and vendor relationships where appropriate.
Analytics & Performance
- Own marketing KPIs and reporting frameworks.
- Measure campaign effectiveness and ROI.
- Utilize advanced analytics to guide investment decisions.
- Deliver executive-level business reviews and recommendations.
Qualifications
Required
- 15+ years of marketing leadership experience.
- 8+ years leading large, high-performing marketing organizations.
- Proven success scaling technology, aerospace, telecommunications, SaaS, or consumer technology businesses.
- Experience owning multi-million-dollar marketing budgets.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build marketing functions from strategy through execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred
- Experience marketing highly technical products.
- Experience working with government, enterprise, and consumer customer segments.
- Aerospace, satellite, telecommunications, defense, or deep-tech industry experience.
- MBA or advanced degree.
- International market expansion experience.
