Director of IT
Our telecommunications client is seeking a Director of IT to lead and optimize internal IT operations across the organization. This is a remote role, with occasional travel to the company’s Virginia office a few times per year, as well as monthly onsite visits during the first few months to support onboarding and transition.
MUST HAVE:
- 5+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with responsibility for both individual contributors and management-level teams
- Experience in Telecommunications, ISP, MSP, or a similar technology-driven, service-based environment
- Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other business functions
- Experience overseeing IT operations, help desk/support functions, business applications and systems, IT processes, vendors, and budgets
- Proven track record of leveraging technology to improve business and operational processes, enhance efficiency, and support organizational growth
- Experience developing and implementing IT strategies, policies, procedures, and technology initiatives aligned with business objectives
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with Snowflake, ERP platforms, Matillion, or other modern data/integration technologies
- Experience leading business systems, data integration, ETL, and/or business intelligence initiatives
- Experience leveraging AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency
DAY TO DAY:
The Director of IT will manage the IT team (currently ~8 employees) and business-systems environment while turning the existing technology roadmap into measurable progress across ERP, OSS/BSS, data, automation, and operational systems. They’ll work closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and other departments to identify process improvements, implement technology and automation, resolve system issues, and ensure teams have the tools and data they need to operate effectively. They’ll also manage vendors and budgets, strengthen documentation and data governance, and maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable IT environment.
