Project Analyst

Our client is immediately seeking a Project Analyst to join their team in Fort Worth, TX. This role will support the transmission side of the business and work closely with Project Managers to provide accurate financial reporting and project cost analysis.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in project financial analysis, cost reporting, accounting, or construction-related finance who enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, extremely detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large amounts of project data.

MUST HAVE

• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and advanced formulas
• Experience with financial analysis, project analysis, cost analysis, or project accounting
• Ability to understand and analyze project financials, including:
  • Earned value
  • Expected value
  • Cost incurred
  • Cost to complete
• Strong understanding of fixed-price project reporting
• Experience analyzing project costs, budgets, and financial performance
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where small reporting errors can have a significant financial impact
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with Project Managers
• Comfortable managing multiple projects and competing priorities at once

NICE TO HAVE

• Construction, utilities, transmission, infrastructure, or similar project-based industry experience
• Experience supporting construction or field-based projects
• Experience with Power BI dashboards
• Experience with Adaptive or another budgeting/financial planning platform
• VBA or Excel macro experience
• Accounting or Financial Analyst background
• Project Analyst experience within a construction or project-driven organization
• Understanding of labor/man-hour reporting and project cost forecasting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Construction Management, or a related field
• MBA is a plus but not required

DAY TO DAY

• Partner closely with transmission Project Managers to review the financial health of active projects
• Prepare and analyze weekly project financial reporting
• Participate in recurring Tuesday meetings with transmission Project Managers
• Compare earned value and expected project progress against:
  • Actual costs incurred
  • Remaining project costs
  • Forecasted cost to complete
• Identify discrepancies, trends, or potential financial issues within project reporting
• Maintain and analyze project data using Excel and Power BI
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities within the Adaptive platform
• Review project performance across multiple fixed-price projects
• Help Project Managers understand where their projects stand financially and where adjustments may be needed
• Ensure reports and financial information are complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule
• Work cross-functionally with project leadership, finance, and operations to provide visibility into project performance
